Lions Fall Short in first PSUAC game of the season 9-3
The Lions were unable to secure a win against a tough PSUAC competitor
Monaca, PA - In a tough match-up against Penn State Greater Allegheny, the Lions fell short finishing witha score of 9-3. Penn State Greater Allegheny came out swinging in the first inning putting 1 up on the board in the first inning. Beavers bats were quite until the 7th inning when they were able to start a rally and score 2. Beaver finished the game with 10 hits, 3 runs, and 3 errors.
Notable players for Beaver today were senior, Stefan Romaniuk, who went 3-5, scored 1 run, and had 1 RBI. Senior, Jacob Beck and Freshman, Aaron Stribling went 1-4 and both scored 1 RBI for the team. Stribling also had a double on the day helping push people into scoring postions. Junior, Parker Walden had a stole baase for the Lions today trying to gain some momentum and make things happen for the team. Pitching today for the Lions was Freshman, Jacob Gresham who lasted 6 innings giving up only 1 earned run and 7 hits while striking out 3 batters, and Senior, Stefan Romanuik who picthed 3 innings and gave up 6 hits.
After battling hard and fighting the rain, the Lions were unable to secure a win today desipte their efforts. The Lions will play their next game on Sunday, March 27th at Penn State Greater Allegheny at 12pm and 3pm in a double header match-up.
