Beaver Baseball Drops First of Two Games With Ocean C.C.
Myrtle Beach, SC -- Beaver Baseball Drops First of Two Games With Ocean C.C.
In their only night game of the week, Beaver faced Ocean Community College in the first of two match-ups during spring training.
It was a tough night as the Lions are low on pitching late in the week, but they looked to keep their hot bats alive to provide some run support. In the first inning, it looked like they would do just that as Ty Cole hit a 2-out single, but Justyn Francona couldn't keep the momentum, grounding out in his at bat.
Down four runs in the top of the third inning, Beaver again looked to get the bats hot on another potential two-out rally, this time off the bat of Matt Capo who tripled. Yet again, the Lions failed to generate a run as Logan Gibbons grounded out in his at bat.
In the bottom of the inning, Ocean C.C. put the dagger in the coffin, scoring seven runs to take an 11-0 lead. Despite their best efforts, Beaver was only able to generate one more hit in their final two at bats and fell by a final score of 11-0.
Beaver will play their final game of the week tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. as they seek redemption on Ocean Community College.
