Beaver Drops Second Game of USCAA National Tournament
Beaver falls to conference rival Dubois, 4-3.
Glens Falls, NY -- Beaver falls to conference rival, Penn State Dubois, in the USCAA Tournament.
Falling into the loser's bracket after yesterday's loss, Beaver drew PSUAC rival Dubois for the next match-up. Beaver open the scoring in the game in the first inning on a Blaise McCarty (Beaver Falls, PA / Riverside) single that scored Jake Debo (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton). Dubois answered with a little offense of their own in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Beaver scored two runs of their own in the top of the third inning of off the bats of McCarty and Matt Capo (Moon Township, PA / Moon) to regain the lead, 3-2. But Dubois refused to quit and tied the game in the bottom of the inning.
After a scoreless fourth, the game tied 3-3, the Beaver defense gave up a run on a double steal giving the one-run advantage to Dubois. Dubois was then able to hold Beaver hitless for the remainder of the game, knocking Beaver out of the tournament after just two games.
Beaver Baseball ends their season with an overall record of 19-21 and a PSUAC Championship under their belts.
