Monaca, PA -- Beaver opens conference play with two big wins over Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
In game one of the double header Beaver jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning, Beaver's offense found it's stride as they batted through the order in route to a 13 run inning. Three of the first six batters in the inning each hit a double resulting in 3 runs. After an RBI single by Jordan Price (Conway, PA / Freedom) to make the Beaver lead 8-0, Wilkes-Barre made their first pitching change, but he also struggled, walking in 2 additional runs. Duncan Miklos (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) followed with a 2 RBI single to give Beaver a 10-0 lead and before Wilkes-Barre could get out of the inning, Beaver's Stephen Antolic (Freedom, PA / Ambridge) and Nick Casasanta (Moon Twp, PA / Moon) would combine for 3 more RBI's to give Beaver a 16-0 lead after just two innings. Wilkes-Barre was able to get one run on the board in the third and two more in the fifth, but it was enough to stop the high powered bats of Beaver. The Lions would go on to win the game by a final score of 19-4 after just five innings.
Leading the scoring was Casasanta and Antolic who each went 3 for 3 and combined for 8 RBI's. On the mound, throwing all five innings was Jake Debo () who struck out four of the 23 batters faced.

Beaver was held scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Debo singled, scoring Casasanta and Derek Bozic () who both reached base safely, Casasanta on a base on balls and Bozic on a base hit. Beaver plated another run in the fifth inning on the second Casasanta single of the game, scoring Matt Sweikowski (Zelienople, PA / Seneca Valley) and then scored the final run of the game in the sixth inning on a Debo double that scored Bozic. As Beaver held on to the 4-1 lead for the win, they were lead offensively by Casasanta and Debo who each had two hits in the game and they combined for all 4 RBI's in game two.
