Penn State Beaver Falls to 0-8 with loss at Grove City
Beaver baseball loses 14-8 in a nine inning game against Grove City College

Penn State Beaver's struggles continue against Grove City College. Beaver was on the board first scoring a run in the top of the first but Grove City answered that with three in the bottom half of the inning. Beaver followed that by putting up two more runs in the top of the second to tie it up. However, Grove City matched Beaver by putting up two more in the bottom of the second making it 5-3 in favor of Grove City.
Grove City then broke out with a five run third inning making the score 10-3 after three innings. Beaver started to chip away scoring two runs each in the fifth and sixth making it 10-7. Grove city scored one more in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to four entering the seventh inning. After a scoreless seventh inning, Beaver tallied one more run in the eigth, then Grove City added three more runs in the bottom half of the inning. That would end up being the final of 14-8 with Beaver not able to get anything going in the ninth.
Leading the offense for Beaver was Blaise McCarty who had four hits, including a 2-run homer. He also scored four runs, and drew a walk. Tyler Thellman and Jake Debo also had two hits a piece, Debo's both being doubles. Beaver plays a JV game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m at Geneva. Varsity returns to action at home on thursday with a double header against Butler Community College at 2 and 4:30 p.m.
