Fayetteville Pa-- In the first game of the playoffs Penn State Beaver stepped onto the field ready to play against first round opponent Penn State Hazelton.
The first inning started slow for Beaver as Hazelton scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning. However that didnt last long as the team kicked it in to high gear at the bottom of the 3rd.
Nick Cassasanta started the run for Beaver, hitting a single to first base which caused Rob Trhlin to score. This began to start of a never ending run for Beaver as they scored the majority of their runs in the next 4 innings.
Jake Debo and Nick Cassasanta both scored 2 runs for the Lions, as well as Matt Capo, Rob Trhlin, Derek Bozic and Tyler Thellman who all pitched in with one run a piece.
Beaver went on to win the game 8 to 4 and advance to their second game of the day against Brandwywine.
