At the USCAA National Tournament, Beaver suffered their first loss of the tourney by falling to The Apprentice School by a score of 1-0.
Cory Wagner (Monaca, Center High School) started the game and went the complete game giving up one run on four hits while striking out 5. The Beaver offense could not get going in the game as they managed just five hits and could not get a runner across the plate. Mike Karas (Imperial, West Allegheny) continued to stay hot in the tournament as he went 2-2 in this game and has now went 6-6 in the first two games combined. Tom Lewis (Aliquippa, Hopewell) also had two hits for Beaver.
Penn State Beaver will now play tonight at 9 in the loser's bracket of the tournament against Robert Morris Springfield.
