Lions Fall Short at Geneva
Beaver Falls, PA - On Friday, March 19 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions baseball team lost its second non-conference game to the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes (Beaver Falls, PA), 17-4.
Geneva held a 1-0 advantage until Beaver got its first run in the third inning, but the Golden Tornadoes scored three of their own that inning and scored a total of nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take the win.
Beaver freshman Markus Allen (Union Area High School, New Castle, PA) hit a double and a triple, and senior Joe Scherer (Quaker Valley High School, Sewickley, PA) had two hits.
Beaver is 2-3 overall. At 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23 the Lions will host the Panthers from the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford.
