Beaver Wins Doubleheader Against Wilkes-Barre

On Saturday, Sept. 20 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions baseball team traveled to Penn State Wilkes-Barre where they won a doubleheader, 9-4 and 12-0.
In the first game, freshman Bryan Strehl (Beaver Falls, PA) pitched four innings and struck out four. Sophomore Huston Lorenzo (Miami, FL) led the team with two hits and four RBIs. Junior Joe Scherer (Sewickley, PA) followed with three hits and two RBIs. Juniors Reed Shwertz (Freedom, PA) and Justin Parasida (Ambridge, PA) finished the game with two hits, and sophomore Jake Gram (Louisville, OH) came in as the relief pitcher to end the game.
In game two Gram pitched three shut-out innings and Lorenzo had four RBIs. Schwertz, junior Cody Moldavan ( Ellwood City, PA), and freshman Dan Sonini (Aliquippa, PA) each had two hits in the win.
The Lion are 4-2 in the PSUAC and 4-2 overall. Conference play continues when they travel to Penn State York for a noon game on Sunday, Sept. 21.
