Lions Lose First Game in USCAA Tournament
On Tuesday, May 13 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions baseball team lost their first game, 6-1, in the USCAA Tournament when they fell to #8 seed Robert Morris College (Springfield, IL) in Virginia Beach, VA.
Robert Morris scored one in the first, fourth, and fifth innings for a 3-0 lead. They added three more in the seventh before Beaver finally scored a run.
Beaver senior Pat Ringel (Sto Rox High School) pitched seven innings, gave up twelve hits, walked four, and struck out five. Sophomore Justin Parasida (Ambridge High School) had an RBI single in the seventh to score Beaver's only run.
Beaver will take on Lyndon State College in a loser's bracket game on Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. In order to qualify for the USCAA Championship, Beaver will have to win three games on Wednesday.
