Beaver Lions Are First in PSUAC
On Wednesday, April 23 the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions baseball team hosted and defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny in their final game of the season, 4-2, cementing Beaver's first-place position in the PSUAC with a conference record of 15-4 and an overall record of 18-9.
In game one, sophomore Greg Frederick (Quaker Valley High School) pitched seven innings, giving up five hits, walking two, and striking out ten. Beaver was led by freshman Huston Lorenzo (Miami, Fl) who recorded three hits, scored one run, and drove in two runs. Freshman Nate Stonfer (Ambridge High School), sophomore Joe Scherer (Quaker Valley High School), and senior Pat Ringel (Sto Rox High School) each had two hits.
Beaver is the #1 seed in next week's PSUAC tournament on Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1 in Williamsport. Game times will be announced.
