Women's soccer advances to second straight conference championship game

Avery Diehl headlined the Penn State Mont Alto offense on Saturday afternoon as the team advances to its second straight PSUAC Championship contest by defeating Penn State Beaver 7-0. Penn State Mont Alto will face off against Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday afternoon from Panzer Stadium at noon. 

 

Penn State Mont Alto dominated the game from the opening whistle, combining to outshoot Penn State Beaver 20-0. Avery Diehl 4' and Lacey Daum 12' each recorded early goals for Penn State Mont Alto to push the team out to a 2-0 advantage. A Penn State Beaver own goal followed by tallies from Nicole Jones and Madison Eberly helped Penn State Mont Alto take a 5-0 lead into the half. 

 

Avery Diehl scored her second goal of the match three minutes into the second half to help the Nittany Lions take a 6-0 advantage. 

 

Zoe Zentz connected on her first career goal in the 65th minute on a header assist from Lilianna Galloway.

 

Madison Eberly and Alexis Mariano each paced the Mont Alto attack with four shots on goal.
