New Kensington Volleyball Falls to Penn State Beaver

MONACA, Pa. – On Saturday, the Penn State New Kensington volleyball team was defeated in a hard-fought match by the score of 3-1.

The Lions (1-11) went down early by losing the first two sets 25-16 and 25-9 but rallied back to win set three 25-22. New Ken battled in set four but eventually fell 25-20.  

Freshman Kylie DiLeo (Sprindale, Pa./ Springdale) led the team in kills with seven. Fellow freshman Kayla Unger (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) orchestrated the offense, tallying 17 assists. Bethany Baney (Apollo / Kiski Area) led the team in digs with five.

The Lions will look to take down Penn State Mont Alto on Thursday, October 21st. The first serve is scheduled to be at 7:00p.m.
