NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – After improving their winning streak last week, Penn State New Kensington men's soccer faced defeat for the first time this afternoon since September. The men went head to head with Penn State Beaver, ranked 6-1 in the PSUAC, who coincidently won 6-1.

During the first period, Beaver put in the first goal of the game around the 27th minute. Brady Braun (Harrison City, Pa./ Penn Trafford) tied the score at minute 36, and New Kensington stopped Beaver for the rest of the remaning time.

It wasn't until the second period that Beaver began scoring goal after goal. What started at the 55th minute didn't end until the 89th minute, which happened to be five goals for New Kensington's opponent.

In total, New Kensington tallied up ten shots, three of which were kicked by Nate Andrews (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Sierra Catholic), and Joshua Zakrzewski (Finleyville, Pa./ Ringgold) saved nine of Beaver's.

Soccer's last game of the season will be held at home on Saturday, Oct. 19. The men will be facing off with Penn State Lehigh Valley at 1 p.m.
