Monaca, PA- The Lions traveled to Monaca, PA Wednesday night to take on Penn State Beaver for a PSUAC matchup.

New Kensington entered the night in first place in the PSUAC West, while Beaver entered in last place. Both teams traded leads back and forth through the first ten minutes, but the Lions started to struggle offensively, scoring only 8 points over the last 11 plus minutes of the first half on their way to a 36-24 deficit at the break.

The Lions were able to cut the lead to 8 with just over 12 minutes to play, but that's as close they would get the rest of way. New Kensington struggled with turnovers throughout, finishing with 21 as a team on their way to a 74-51 loss.

Sophomore guard Aubrey Feaster (Buffalo, NY) led the Lions in scoring with 13 points on 5-12 shooting. Sophomore forward Jovan Kojic (Subotica, Serbia) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds in limited minutes off the bench. Fellow big man Manny Dotson (Pittsburgh, PA) added 6 points and 6 rebounds, while Benjamin Cunningham (Woodbrige, VA) scored 5 and grabbed 7 boards.

The loss drops New Kensington to second place in the conference. The Lions will look to bounce back when they travel Northeast to play Penn State Dubois this Saturday, January 21st in another PSUAC West showdown.
