MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine extended its winning streak to six-straight games as the Lions' men's soccer team topped Penn State Beaver 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Brandywine controlled possession for much of the game, outshooting Beaver 22-4, but was held off the scoreboard until the 31:35 mark. Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) found Ali Abdelhady (Dubai, UAE/Nord Anglia International School) in front and Abdelhady got Brandywine on the board with his ninth goal of the year.
Manful had a hand in all three Brandywine goals, recording one marker and two assists. He also assisted on Francis Sarpong's (Germantown, Md./Southwest) goal with eight minutes remaining in the first half to give the Lions a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Abdelhady and Manful teamed up for a second-half insurance goal with Abdelhady finding Manful for his team-high 14th goal of the fall.
Will Manarpaac (Boerne, Texas/Samuel V. Champion) earned the win in net for the Lions, his second of the season. He stopped two shots during each half to tally his second shutout.
Brandywine (10-3-2, 3-0-1 PSUAC) continues conference play Wednesday at Penn State Hazleton at 4:00 PM.
