Penn State Beaver Women's Volleyball takes on Carlow University.
Penn State Women's Volleyball falls short, Carlow wins 3-0.
Pittsburgh, PA- The Lady Lions traveled to take on USCAA foe Carlow University Tuesday night; losing 3-0.
Beaver started strong in the first set, taking the first 6 points, and then building a 9-3 lead. Carlow clawed back into, tying the game at 11's. The rest of the set went back and forth, but Carlow would capture set 1 by the score of 25-23. In the second set, Carlow jumped out to a lead and Beaver clawed their way back to tie it at 12's; but the results were the same, Carlow took set 2 25-21. In the final set, it was even the entire way, but Carlow edged Beaver once again, taking the set 25-23, and winning the match 3-0.
In the loss, Beaver was led in kills by Senior Breann King (Houston,PA/Chartiers Houston) with 8. King also led the Lady Lions with assists with 8. Senior Heaven Bowman (Houston, TX/ Dulles) recorded 16 digs and Freshman Jesigga Sigurdardottir (San Jose, CA/ Abraham Lincoln) recorded 3 blocks in the loss.
With the set back, Beaver now sits at 0-4 on the young season. The Lady Lions will return to action on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 when they travel to Penn State Fayette for the PSUAC opening game. Gametime is set for 12PM.
