Monaca, PA -- Lady Lions Enjoy Senior Night Win

The Lady Lions celebrated a victory over Penn State Du Bois Tuesday in their last home PSUAC conference match of the season. The match was also Beaver's Senior Night, as the team took time to congratulate seniors Roxy Kie and Jenna Petrucci.
The first set started in Beaver's favor as the team took a quick lead, but Du Bois quickly turned the set around. Despite strong defense by Beaver, Du Bois took the first round 25-19.
The second set was almost the opposite of set 1, as it started with a lead by Du Bois before being turned around by Beaver. The team had a collective 11 kills and 37 takeaways in this set, led by senior Jenna Petrucci. Beaver won the second set 25-18.
Set 3 continued to show Beaver at the top of their game, quickly outpacing Du Bois both on the scoreboard and on the court. Sophomore Amanda Mike had 6 kills and 3 attempts in the set, helping to keep the ball in Beaver's possession. Beaver took set 3 with a score of 25-15.
Set 4 had a few moments where the score went back and forth between both teams, but Beaver continued to handle their game in a proficient manner. This set gave the team 7 kills and 35 takeaways. In the end, Beaver overcame the match 25-17, winning the game 3-1. Senior Roxy Kie led the pack with 24 assists in the game, while sophomore Brooke Tomasco had 7 aces.
Beaver ends their regular season 15-10, while going 11-4 in the PSUAC conference. They will begin playoffs on Friday in a match being held at Penn State Brandywine. The opponent of that match will be announced Wed. October 25.
