Monaca, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team faced off against Kent State Tuscarawas for their second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, October 8. Beaver comes into this game on a three game win streak in which they've played very well, and they look to continue this streak with another good game today.
Beaver started this game trying to continue their momentum from their previous game against Penn State Greater Allegheny. The two teams went back and forth in the first set, battling right down to the very last point for the win. Eventually, Kent was able to squeeze out a 26-24 win in the first set and really took hold of the game from there. The second set was all Kent as Beaver really started to struggle, as they dropped this set 25-15. The third set Beaver tried rallying back, as they fought hard to overcome a good Kent State team. In the end Kent was too much, as a tired Beaver team fell in this set 25-21.
Beaver lost this one in what was a disappointing game for the team. Lead by the efforts of Jordan Militello, who had 3 solo blocks, 4 kills, and an ace, Beaver played a tough game against one of the tougher opponenets they've faced all year. The team now sits at 12-10 overall with an 8-2 conference record. Beaver will return to action on Wednesday, October 12 at Penn State Fayette. Game time is set for 7 pm.
