Monaca, PA -- The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team played at home on Friday night against a good opponent in Potomac State. This was the second game that the Beaver girls played on Friday as they are fresh off of a dominanting win against CCBC.
The first set started off with both teams looking pretty evenly matched for almost half of the set. Finallly about halfway through the set, Potomac took advantage of a few errors by Beaver and started to run away with the lead, eventually winning the set 25-16.
Beaver started out strong in the second set, but couldn't manage to stay consistent as they quickly lost their small lead. Inconsistent play from all over kept adding up as Potomac kept pressing Beaver. Beaver ended up losing this set 25-15, going down two sets to none.
The third set started off, once again, with good play from Beaver. As they took a small lead in the first few points errors started to really affect their play, as nobody seemed to get it together for Beaver. They ended up losing this set as well, falling by a score of 25-11.
Beaver lost their second game on this Friday, now standing at 4-5 early in the season. This was a disappointing loss for the Beaver girls, as they looked very inconsistent against what wasn't a dominating team. Beaver's Morgan Cannister played well in this one, tallying nine kills in the loss. Beaver will return to action on Wednesday, September 14 at Penn State Du Bois at 7 pm.
