Monaca, PA -- Penn State Beaver returned home Friday evening to take on Penn Highlands Community College. Beaver comes into this game looking to get back on track after having dropped their last two games against tough opponents. The girls have been looking good lately despite losing their last two games, ans they hoped that their good play will pay off with a win.
The first set started off in Beaver's favor as they slowly took hold of the lead and the momentum of the game. Penn Highlands put up a good fight in this set but didn't look together to start the game, and didn't improve much as the set went on and eventually lost to Beaver by a score of 25-16.
The second set didn't go much better for Penn Highlands, as they looked the same as they did at the start of the first set. Beaver continued to roll with their momentum as they made great play after great play, looking really well at the net. Beaver finished out the second set strong, winning by a score of 25-15.
The third set was all Beaver, as they came out ready to put this win in the books. Penn Highlands desperately needed to get on a roll if they wanted to have any chance at winning this game, but sadly they were unable to due to great play from the service line by Beaver. This last set ended with a final score of 25-10 as Beaver came away with a much needed win.
The Beaver girls looked impressive in this game, dominating Penn Highlands in all three sets. With great performances from Brooke Tomasko, who had six service aces, and Morgan Cannister, who had 11 kills, Beaver got back on track today and back into their winning ways. The girls will play their next game on Saturday, September 3 at home against CCBC at 12 pm.
