Takoma Park, MD -- Penn State Beaver Women's Soccer falls to Washington Adventist University Shock.
In their second game of the season, the Lady Lions traveled to Maryland to take on the WAU Shock, a USCAA match-up. Lauren Banks was the first Lady Lion to score in the game, her first of the season. Bukuru Edisa also got on the board with her first goal of the season, assisted by Banks. Washington Adventist, however; tallied three goals in the half, making the score 3-2 at halftime.
In the second half the Lady Lions started to come undone after defenseman, Glycerine Bauman, was red carded. Washington Adventist would put up another three goals in the second half to hand Beaver a 6-2 loss.
Leading the Lady Lions was Banks with one goal and one assist. Junior, Brittany Zahn, when asked if she felt the team was coming together said, "yeah, we played much better and did pretty well as a team, just lost our heads in the last 15 minutes".
The Lady Lions now sit at 0-2 this season but still have one non-conference game this coming week before opening PSUAC play next Saturday. Beaver will host Point Park University on Wednesday, September 13th at 2:00 p.m.
