Beaver Falls, PA -- The Beaver womens soccer team traveled to Beaver Falls on Wednesday night to take on Geneva College for just their second game this season. Beaver looks to rebound after losing big in their first game of the year, where they were unable to score a goal in 80 minutes of play. They come into this game facing off against a tough opponent in Geneva College at their home field.
The game quickly started in Geneva's favor, as they jumped ahead with a goal in just the second minute of this one. From that moment on the game was entirely in Geneva's hands as they scored at will through the first 45 minutes. By the time the first half was over Beaver had not registered a single shot while Geneva managed to tally 19 shots, six of them finding their way to the back of their net giving Geneva a 6-0 lead.
The second half started out just as bad for Beaver as the first half did. Geneva quickly came out and scored a their first goal of the second half in the 50th minute of play, and just one minute later they followed that up with their eighth and final goal of the game. This score would hold for the rest of the game as Beaver couldn't manage to get more than one shot on goal during the second half, falling by the final score of 8-0.
The Beaver women haven't had much luck at the start of this season as they stand at 0-2 so far after two big loses against good teams. Still without a goal this year, the women are struggling to get back into winning form as they had been last year. Beaver will take the field next on Saturday, September 10 at Penn State Schuylkill at 2 pm.
