Lady Lions gain another win, this time against WCCC
Beaver wins over WCCC 8-4

Youngwood, PA - Penn State Beaver Women's soccer traveled to WCCC to gain their second win of the season.
The Lady Lions won back to back games in less than a week, first against Brandywine and now to WCCC. It was an eventful and thrilling game for Beaver and they came out on top in the end.
As the match kicked off, Junior Jessica Spina (Jefferson Hills, PA/ Thomas Jefferson) started the rally of goals by having a low corner finish off of a throw in by freshman Morgan Stillwagon (Freedom, PA/ Ambridge). Following Spina's goal moments later was Stillwagon with a penatly kick. Returning the favor, Spina assisted Stillwagon for her scond goal with a cross shot from the far post finishing the goals for the first half making it Beaver 3, WCCC 0 at halftime.
For the second half, WCCC answered back right away with a break away low shot. But Beaver instantly responded with an unassisted goal by freshman Cortney Harden on a low corner shot. WCCC responded with 2 more goals, one being a penalty kick. But Spina wasn't letting them get away easily getting another goal back for Beaver with the assistance of Stillwagon.
As the second half progessed it got more intense. Stillwagon scored her third goal of the match unassisted, making it so Stillwagon had a hat trick. Not long after Spina got her own hat trick of the game scoring a cross shot from freshman Marissa Bucklen (Hookstown, PA/ South Side Beaver). WCCC tried gaining more goals but were only successful with one more with a long shot. The final goal of the game was by Harden who was assisted by Stillwagon on a corner kick.
Spina and Stillwagon had 3 goals each, following Harden wth 2 with assists from Bucklen who had 1 assist, Spina with 1 as well, and Stillwagon with 2. Freshman goal keeper Brittany Zahn (New Brighton, PA/ New Brighton) had a total of 3 saves.
The Lady Lions are now 1-1 in the PSUAC and 2-3 overall. Their next game is Sunday against Alfred St., game time at 1 p.m.
