Beaver travels to Penn College for Tri-match
Beaver loses two matches on Saturday
Williamsport, PA--- The Penn State Beaver Wrestling team went to Penn College on Saturday to have a tri-match against Penn College and PSU Mont Alto. In the first match, Beaver had a match against the host team Penn College in which Beaver was shut out 42-0. In the 141 weight class, Sean Newkirk (McDonough, Henry County) lost by decision 5-11. Then in the 157 weight class, Bobby Tempalski (Hookstown, Hopewell) lost by pin at 2:37 in the first period. In the 165 weight class, Dylan Winkle (Aliquippa, Hopewell) lost by decision 5-12.
In the second match of the day, Beaver was defeated by Mont Alto 38-6. In the 141 weight class, Newkirk won by recording the pin at 1:45 of the first period. At 157, Tempalski lost by major decision 0-16 and at 165, Winkle lost by decision 7-13.
Despite the losses, Beaver showed improvement over last weekend as evidenced by three decision losses and are scoring points through takedowns and escapes. Beaver will wrestle again on November 29th as they host Slippery Rock at 7pm.
