Beaver Women Get First Conference Win Over Greater Allegheny
The Beaver women take to the road for their first conference matchup of the season, beating Penn State Greater Allegheny for their first conference win this season.

Penn State women's basketball team took on Penn State Greater Allegheny on the road, getting their first conference win this season 85-73.
The Penn State Beaver women's basketball team took to the road to play their first conference game this season against Penn State Greater Alleghney. The team has played well so far this season against their non-conference opponents and comes into this game looking to improve on their 2-2 overall record as well as starting off conference play 1-0.
The Beaver team started off this game slow, as it was a hard fought battle between two tough teams. The first quarter ended with Greater Allegheny up 22-20 as they were shooting very well compared to Beaver and their slow start. Beaver continued their struggles shooting in the second quarter as once again they had a tough time making their shots, shooting around 30% in the first two quarters combined. Greater Alleghney had the lead going into the half with a score of 41-46.
The second half showed a much stronger performance from Beaver as the team not only improved in their shooting but also in their defense as well, slowing down the Greater Allegheny attack. In the third quarter Beaver managed to outscore Greater Allegheny 16-11 to tie the game up going into the fourth. The fourth quarter was all Beaver, as the team shot 61% and outscored Greater Alleghney 28-16 to come back and win 85-73 after trailing for most of the game.
Beaver now sits at 3-2 on the season after their win against Penn State Greater Allegheny. The team also secured their first conference win this season with their win and hold a 1-0 conference record as well. The team was lead in this game by the efforts of Senior Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) who had a double-double in this one with a team high 13 rebounds and 14 points. The team was also helped by scoring of Senior Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) who scored a team high 16 points in the come from behind victory. The team plays next on Friday, December 2, at home against Penn State Hazelton. Game time is set for 6 pm.
