The Penn State Beaver women's basketball team comes into their game against Geneva College looking to shape up after a disappointing loss to Carlow. The Lady Lions are sitting at 1-2 coming into this game and look to improve their record early on in the season.
The game was a fairly one sided affair, as Beaver quickly took the lead with the first points of the game and never gave it up. Scoring 29 points in the first quarter alone, the girls looked to be firing on all cylinders against Geneva as they shot a respectable 42% from the field in this one. The team seemed to be playing with a chip on their shoulder and they proved that they were to be taken serious as they won this game by a final score of 70-54.
Beaver's Lady Lions now sit at 2-2 early in the season, looking to keep up their good play as of late for conference play. The team was led in this game by the efforts of Senior Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) , who registered a double-double with a team high 20 points and 11 rebounds. Beaver was also helped out by a another strong performance from Senior Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln), who scored 16 points and merely missed a double-double herself by tallying 9 rebounds. The girls will return to action on Tuesday, November 29, as they begin their conference schedule by traveling to take on Penn State Greater Allegheny. Game time is set for 6 pm.
