Penn State Beaver Lady Lions dominate second half after a slow start to move past Wilkes-Barre. It was a slow and low scoring first quarter with only a score of 15-9 after the first ten minutes of play. Team led by Khalia Adams and Morgan Kurtz helped them build a little lead heading into halftime at 37-25.
Beaver jumped out of the gate after halftime, exploding on a 9-0 run and forcing Wilkes-Barre to call a timeout to regroup. Despite free throw struggles throughout the game beaver got ahead after halftime and did not look back. Khalia Adams had multiple three point plays. Morgan Kurtz played exceptionally well in the second half offensively, and Brittany Jackson was excellent on defense drawing multiple charges and adding a few timely buckets herself.
Leading in scoring for beaver was Morgan Kurtz with 23, making a pair of shots from behind the arc. Khalia Adams added 16 points and had four rebounds. Mason Depetro and Asia Borders added twelve points to help the cause. Brittany Jackson lead with six rebounds and 11 points to help beaver improve to 7-1 in conference play. The lady lions next game is saturday January 30th against Worthington-Scranton at home at 1pm.
