Penn State Beaver Softball splits against Schuylkill
Schuylkill PA, Penn State Beavers womens softball team hits the road as they take on Penn state Schuylkill in a double header that would lead to a 1 in 1 conclusion at the end of the day. The team played a tough set of games as they won the first game, but wasn't able to keep the momentum as they lost the second game.
In the first game beaver started off the game strong, with third year Gabbey flynt (Fayetteville, TN) as pitcher. They were able to keep Schulykill from scoring any runs in the first inning, yet in return they also were not able to score any runs. Going into the second inning Penn State Beaver was able to pick up the speed scoring one run in the second inning while Schuykill didnt score at all. The run was earned by second year Selene Arteage (Simi Valley, CA). They kept this momentum up in the third inning scoring another run to Schuylkills none. This run was scored by fifth year Chloe Coleman (Moon twp, PA). For the rest of the game the two teams kept each other at bay. Wasnt till the sixth inning did Schulykill score two runs. Beaver returned in thesevent inning scoring another run by player of the game third year Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA). Ending the game for Beaver with a final score of 3 - 2, securing the team a win.
Going into the second game Schulykill came in determined. The team managed to score one run in the second inning while keeping beaver at bay until the third inning. Within the third inning fourth year Kylie Magnotta (Beaver, PA) was able to score a run putting Beaver on the board. Although Beaver was able to score a run, Schulkill did not let up. They would continue to keep Beaver at bay for the rest of the game, not letting them score anymore runs. While also scoring another run in the fourth inning and three more runs in the fifth inning. The two teams would end the game with the final score 1- 5 Penn State Schuylkill for the win.
