The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver suffer double losses to Chatman University in season debut.

On a chilly Sunday afternoon, the Lady Lions took the field at Chatham University eager to start their season off right.
However, things didn't go as planned for Beaver.
At the start, Beaver found themselves at an early disadvantage giving up 4 runs before the top of the second. Chatham continued to hold momentum of the game until the top of the third when freshman Mason Dipetro(Coraopolis, PA / Cornell) singled home freshman Haley Paul(Rochester, PA / Rochester) and senior Rachel Borrell (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East) cutting the deficit to 4 as the Lions trailed 2 to 6.
As the game continued, Beaver's spark began to fade as Chatman continued to connect offensively winning the first game 12-3. Leading for Beaver was Rachel Borrell (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East)who finished the game batting 2 for 3 with an RBI.
The second matchup of the day also ended in defeat for the Lady Lions, as Beaver found themselves playing catch up.
Chatham controlled the game early with a commanding 14-0 lead by the end of the second inning. Beaver showed signs of fight scoring 3 runs but by then the game was all but over.
Chatham continued on to win the game 17 to 3.
Leading for Beaver in the second matchup was Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown)with 2 RBI's and 1 hit, and Borrell(Downingtown, PA / Downingtown East) with 1 RBI and 2 hits.
The Lady Lions will face off against Grove City College at 3:00 p.m. at home March 26th.
