Both teams held strong defensively and kept one another from scoring in the 6th and 7th innings. Finally in the 8th inning after Beaver held Fayette from scoring, sophomore Kayla Chambers (Southside/Southside, PA) pushed the perfect squeeze bunt up the first base line to score the winning run for Beaver. After 8 innings of play Beaver won by a final of 5-4.
Fayette seeked revenge on Beaver after their loss in the first game, as they wasted no time scoring two runs off the bat in the top of the first inning. Beaver remained scoreless in the first inning and held Fayette in the top of the 2nd. Beaver's freshman Katie Landis (Rochester/Rochester, PA) hit a solo home-run, her second of the year, to put Beaver on the board. Both teams remained scoreless in the 3rd inning. The 4th, 5th, and 6th innings Beaver held Fayette to no runs and got hot at the plate. Beaver brought in two runs in the bottom of the 4th and added another 3 more in the bottom of the 5th.
