Mont Alto, PA -- The Penn State Beaver men's soccer team traveled up to Penn State Mont Alto on Sunday for their second conference game of the year. The team is coming off of their first win of the season just a day ago against Penn State Schuylkill. The men have looked very good so far this year and hope to continue their good play against Mont Alto.
Beaver started this game off looking poised to win, and very quickly they proved just that. This may have been Beaver's best played game all year as they not only played well defensively, but they also looked spectacular offensively. A combined five players scored in this game for Beaver, giving them some breathing room on defensive as they scarcely let up any good chances and allowed only one goal. When it was all said and done, Beaver came home with the win in this one by a score of 5-1.
Beaver looked very impressive in this win today, putting them at 2-2 overall this season with a 2-0 overall record. Beaver's Zachary Petey, Shelton Hilliard, Romaine Thompson, Moo Shee, and John Valiga all scored a goal in this game while Julius Illiano tallied 4 assists. Beaver looks to improve their record and extend their winning streak as they return home for their next game on Wednesday, September 14 against Westmoreland County Community College. Game time is set for 2 pm.
