Monaca PA, Penn State Beaver Men basketball falls short against Penn State Du Bios during tough game played wednesday night. Throughout the game the Beaver played a strong game opening the game with consistent shot and great court vision.
Beaver starts off strong going basket for basket with Dubois for a little less than half of first period. With fourth year Nathan Coonfare (Ellwood City, PA) opening the game uo with a layup. From there they kepted up strong with Du Bois as they fought hard, with fourth year Chris Green (Washington,DC) playing a strong defensive game with an overall of 5 steals throughout the game. With 6 minutes remaining the Du Bois team pulls ahead ending the half with the score 49- 37. While it was a tough fight during the first half the Penn State Beaver Mens Basketball team fought hard throuh it all.
The Beavers Mens basketball team came into the second still strong in the fight. As first year Alex Green ( Chicago, IL) started off making a strong layup to kick off the second half the game. From there the two teams continued to battle it out with strong defense from Penn State Beaver second year Xavier Ryan (Philadelphia, PA) as has 5 defensive rebounds throughout the game. While there efforts and determination was there they unforntunately fell short to Dubois. With the Penn State Beaver Mens Basketball team scoring 36 points in total for the second half putting the final score of the game being 88 - 73.
Some key player that contributed to this fight were First Year alex Green (Chiago, IL) scoring 16 points. Following him was Chris Green (Washington, DC) scoring a total of 15 points throughout the game. Next was second year Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) scoring 14 points, and second year Xavier Ryan (Philadelphia, PA) scoring 9 points and having a great defensive game with 5 rebounds and 1 steal during the game.
