The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team went on the road, traveling to Penn State Wilkes-Barre for another good conference matchup. Beaver came into this game off of a good win against Penn State Worthington Scranton, and they looked to continue their good play in the start of this one.
This game was a battle from the start, as the first half of play was back and forth from begining to end. Neither team was able to really pull away, and by the end of the first half the score was 36-33, showing how neither team was excelling so far. The second half was a different story, as Wilkes-Barre began running away with their lead only a few minutes into the half. Beaver may have played well in this half, shooting 50% from the field during the game, but they still weren't playing to the level of Wilkes-Barre as they eventually would fall by a final score of 81-70.
With their loss to Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Beaver now holds an 8-8 overall record while dropping to 4-3 in conference play. Beaver was lead in this game by the play of their Freshman guard, Dimetres Moore (Mesa, Az / Skyline), who scored a team high 24 points. The men will play next on Friday, January 20, at home against Penn State Brandywine. Game time is set for 8 pm, and there will be a free beanie giveaway for all fans.
