Monaca, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver basketball team took on Penn State Du Bois, taking home a big win by a score of 92-56.
The Penn State Beaver basketball team took on Penn State Du Bois for another conference matchup on the season. The two teams come into this game looking to improve in conference play, as they are both sitting in the middle of the PSUAC standings. Beaver is coming off of a good win in their last game, in which the team came back to hold onto a slim lead for their win against Penn State Schuylkill. The first half of play started off with Beaver jumping out to a big lead against a slow Du Bois team. The men looked very focused from the start of this one, making good passes and good shots early on propel them ahead. As the half went on Beaver hardly slowed down, taking a safe 41-24 lead into halftime. At the start of play for the second half Beaver continued their dominating performance against a Du Bois team that looked very well defeated. However, even with their big lead the team didn't slow down, continuing to fire on all cylinders until the last buzzer rang. At the end of this one Beaver had secured themselves a well deserved win by a final score of 92-56.
With their blowout win over Du Bois, Beaver now has two wins in a row in conference play to improve their record to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The team had no toubles taking home the win in this one, as 4 of the team's starting five scored at least 10 points in the game while shooting nearly 50% from the field. Beaver was lead in this game by Senior Ignacio Alleyne (Stafford, VA / Colonial Forge), who scored a team high 23 points while hauling in 9 rebounds.
