Beaver falls short in final game of the season losing 81-61

Hazleton, PA -- Going into today's game Beaver knew they could not make playoffs after a Penn State Dubois win last night knocking Beaver out of the playoff picture.
After a victory last night Beaver would get off to a very sluggish start against Penn State Hazleton. Hazleton would go up 20-12 after Eric Gallupe (Sewickley, PA/Avonworth) would make a three for Beaver. Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) would add a layup making the score 16-28, Hazleton, with six minutes left in the first half. Hazleton would steak into halftime on a 13-3 run going up 41-19 headed into the second half.
Beaver would go on the comeback trail for the entire second half. Wright, Gallupe, and Christian Perkins (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) would all have consecutive three pointers putting Beaver down 41-56 with thirteen minutes left in the game. Perkins would make a layup closing the gap to three points making the score 67-70 with three minutes left in the game. This would be the closest Beaver would cut the lead as Hazleton would go on a 11- 2 run to end the game.
Wright would lead all scores with 27 points in his final game playing for Penn State Beaver. Perkins would add 17, followed by Gallupe with 15 and 10 rebounds. Beaver would shoot 34% for the entire game proving to be costly in the end.
Beaver ends the season with a final record of 9-15 overall and 7-9 in the conference.
