Beaver loses a tough one and splits this season with Penn State Fayette, whom have had a lot of success this season in the PSUAC. The first half was very competitive and somewhat choppy. Both teams were struggling, shooting 36% from the field. Beaver was trailing 36-33 heading into halftime.
The struggles for beaver started in the second half with missed free throws and getting into foul trouble. Unfortunately, this beaver team doesnt have a lot of depth on the bench, which forces their starting five to get a lot of minutes, and that hurt them toward the end of the game. Beaver hung around for a while, which made for an interesting game. However, once fayette stretched their lead to seven with about seven minutes left, they didnt look back and maintained about a ten point lead for the remaining minutes of the game.
Eric Gallupe lead beaver in scoring with 21 points. He had a trio of three's, along with an impressive 10 rebounds, 7 being defensive. Ignacio Alleyne also added 17 points and an astounding 17 rebounds, 9 defensive. Lamont Wright put up 14 points, he also had a pair of assists and four rebounds. Their starting 5 carried all the workload with Lamont Wright, Christian Perkins, DJ Austin, Eric Gallupe all having 40 minutes of playing time. Ignacio Alleyne had 31 minutes, but was in foul trouble and fouled out with 3:27 left to go, Brian Griffin picked up the remaining 9 minutes. Beaver looks to bounce back at home on Sunday February 7th at 2 p.m against Penn State Mont Alto.
