In a game that was desperately needed by both teams, beaver loses a tough one in the final minute of play. It was a chippy, hard fought game that came down to the wire. In the first half, beaver shot 42 percent from the field and Wilkes Barre shot 45 percent. Going into halftime beaver was down 42-36.
Coming out of the half Wilkes Barre was starting to pull away. Beaver was trying to match with the three ball at first, but once they started to slow up and take higher percentage shots they started to cut into the lead a little at a time. With 5 minutes left in the game the score stood at 71-59 in favor of Wilkes-Barre. Using the full court press beaver was able to get a few turnovers and capitalize from them to tighten the score to 80-77 with a minute left. Unfortunately it wasn't enough as beaver falls 84-81 to Wilkes-Barre and to 4-6 in the conference.
Lamont Wright lead in scoring with 26 points, he also added 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Eric Gallupe also had a great game scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Ignacio Alleyne added 20 points and had a few timely buckets down the stretch for beaver. It was a hard fought game and the comeback would have been one to remember. They look to rebound from this loss as they play tomorrow, January 30th at 3pm at home.
