Beaver Falls in Low Scoring Game to New Kensington
Lions lose 73-51 on the road

New Kensington, PA – Beaver continues losing streak after a loss to Penn State New Kensington, 73-51.
A minute into the first half Sophomore Christian Perkins (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) opened the game with a two point jump shot. From that point on Beaver would not retain control of the lead. Senior Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) would tie the game up in the ninth minute (18-18) with a free throw. This would be the closest Beaver would come to the lead the entire game. Two minutes before the end of the first half Sophomore DJ Austin (East Liverpool, OH/ East Liverpool) would add a jump shot for Beaver cutting the lead to 26-35. At the end of the half Beaver would trail New Ken 26-38.
Coming out of the half Sophomore Eric Gallupe (Sewickley, PA/Avonworth) would hit a three pointer cutting the lead to 29-40. New Kensington would take full control of the game at that point going up 54-34 at the thirteen minute mark. New Kensington would go on a 7-15 run to end the game.
Perkins would make the final five points of the game for Beaver making the final score 51-73.Perkins would lead Beaver with a total of 16 points. Austin would follow adding 13. Gallupe would bring down a team high 7 rebounds. Austin led Beaver with 5 assists.
Beaver's next game is on Friday January, 29 at home when they take on Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 8 p.m. Beaver now falls to 6-11 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
