Lions lose by 2 points against Central Maine CC
Beaver defeated, 73-71
Auburn, ME - The Lions traveled to Auburn to take on Central Maine CC where Beaver lost 73-71.
In the first four minutes, Beaver were down 3-4, until Christian Perkins (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) made a 3 point jumpshot giving Beaver the lead for minute. Both teams battled back and forth, putting a mutliple points up on the board beeing 2 or 3 points ahead or behind each other. That was until Sidney Bates () made a layup at the 10:17 mark. This lead Beaver to gain a lead until the last 5 minutes of the first half. Central Maine CC gained a big lead, retaliating back gaining a 13 point difference against Beaver (41-28).
To open the second half, Beaver were still down against Central Maine CC. Many key free throws and 3 point shots were made between Eric Gallupe (Sewickley, PA/ Avonworth) and Perkins. Despite staying close in points with them on the board, Beaver couldn't top Central Maine's offensive skills and lost by two short points, 73-71.
Leading the Lions in points was Lamont Wright (Pittsburgh, PA/ Penn Hills) with 18 points on the board. He was followed By Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/ Perry) and Gerald Boykin (Ambridge, PA/ Aliquippa) with 12 points each. Boykin also got his first double-double of the season with his 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Beaver's next game is Sunday, Novermber 22 at 7 p.m. against Southern Maine CC.
