Beaver Pulls Out a Win in the Second Half Against Hazelton
Beaver wins, 99-64
Monaca, PA- On Friday night, Beaver hosted Penn State Hazelton, where they showed they are in playoff form.
In the first half, neither Beaver nor Hazelton could keep a lead for long. The lead changed hands a total of 5 times throughout the first half. Beaver came out on top at the end of the half 36-32, when Chris Weathers (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) made a 19 footer to take the lead.
The second half was much different than the first, as the flood gates opened on Hazelton. Beaver started the half with an immediate 10 point run (48-32), setting the tone for the remainder of the game. Beaver advanced their lead, and never looked back. Beaver scored frequently and out rebounded Hazelton, 45-22. Beaver would win the game 99-64.
Beaver's top scorers were Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls) with 23 points and Weathers with 21. Sophomore Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Hills) also contributed with a double-double, 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Beaver now has a conference record of 13-3 (18-6 Overall) and faces Penn State Worthington-Scranton in their last regular season game before the playoffs.
