Lions Defeated by the Red Hawks

Pittsburgh, PA- On Saturday, the Penn State Beaver Lions traveled to La Roche College, home of the Red Hawks, for a non-conference double-header. The Lions now move to 15-15 overall after dropping two against the Red Hawks. In game one, the Lions started off strong scoring two runs in the top of the first, but La Roche answered back with six runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Remaining scoreless for the remainder of the game, Beaver gave up two runs to the Red Hawks in the bottom of the 2nd and one more run in the bottom of the third. La Roche defeated Beaver by a final of 9-2. Freshman Dan Sonsini (Aliquippa/Alquippa, PA) ended the game with two hits.
In game two, the Lions played a solid defensive game against the Red Hawks. Giving up one run in the bottom of the first, two runs in the bottom of the 2nd and four runs in the bottom of the 5th, Beaver came up short against La Roche losing by a final of 7-0.
The Lions return home and back to PSUAC play when they host the Lions of Penn State Fayette on Tuesday, April 14th. Game time is set to start at 2p.m.
