Two Baseball Players Earn PSUAC Post-Season Honors
Monaca, PA -- Two Baseball Players Earn PSUAC Post-Season Honors.
Despite falling short of post-season play, two baseball players were recognized by the conference for their efforts on the field.
Earning a spot on the 1st Team All-Conference was junior, Scott Hughes. Hughes led the team in batting average, hitting .442 this season which was also 4th in the PSUAC. He was also inside the top five in the PSUAC in doubles (12). Scott also made impacts from the mound working as both a starting pitcher as well as in relief.
Junior, Justyn Francona was the second player honored, being named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Francona also pulled double duty, hitting .310 and leading the team in RBI's with 23. He also led the team in triples (3) and home runs (2). From the mound he threw 3.26 this season, going 4-2 in 9 appearances.
Both young men plan to return next year and guide the team back to the post-season in their senior seasons.
