River Wait of Oklahoma to Attend Beaver in the Fall
River Wait of Gage, OK commits to Penn State Beaver Softball.
Hailing from Fargo-Gage High School, the switch hitting first-baseman will be attending Penn State Beaver in the fall.
In addition to softball, River also plays basketball but she is more than just a dual sport athlete. She also takes her academics very seriously. She is enrolled in both Northwestern Oklahoma State and Redlands Community College for concurrent high school classes. Her efforts on the field and in the classroom earned her the distinction of Academic All-Star. Additional academic honors include membership in the National Honor Society (NHS), Princial's Honor Roll, Superintendent's Honor Roll, BETA Club, Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
In addition to her academic hobbies of NHS and BPA, she also spends some time working on photography and with the yearbook as well as volunteering with a military group who put out the flags for Memorial Day and Veterans Day with the American Legion.
When asked about her favorite sports memory, River told the story of how she tripped over home plate the morning of her Junior Prom. But also said she is looking forward to making life long friends and many new experiences at Penn State Beaver.
