Carlynton Grad To Play Women's Basketball
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is excited to introduce Diamond Thomas as part of its 2017 recruiting class.
Diamond comes from Carlynton High School where she played in the WPIAL semifinals and the PIAA elite 8 her senior year. Diamond has been playing basketball for 12 years which includes playing in the well-known Drill 4 Skill and 212 AAU programs.
Aside from basketball Diamond also participated in track where she made the WPIAL championships. Thomas chose Penn State Beaver athletically because of the freedom outside of basketball allowing her to do other things as well as she feels that the program best suits her style of play.
Academically she likes that she will be able to connect with her teachers and has her major which will allow her to stay at Beaver all four years. Coach Moore says "we are excited to have Diamond in our program. Any time you can add a player with the high school accolades that Diamond has is great for our program. She will definitely add athleticism and quickness to our team and give us depth at the point guard position."
