Women's Basketball Announces 1st Transfer Player for 2017
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball would like to welcome their first transfer of the year Abigail (Abby) Herring.
Abby spent her freshman year at Penn State Mont Alto where she averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds per game. Abby has been playing basketball 12 years which includes her time at Fairfield Area High School and playing for the RimRockers AAU organization. Her greatest basketball memory is playing in the PA/MD State All-Star game her senior year.
Abby chose to continue her career at Penn State Beaver to better her future and excel academically and be a part of a great athletic atmosphere. "The academic opportunity is phenomenal for me at Beaver. I am able to connect with people all over in the field of Criminal Justice and pursue my dream of the FBI or other Federal Law Enforcement.
Outside of basketball Abby has played volleyball and enjoys time with family and friends, attending Orioles games, and eating ice cream.
Coach Moore is no stranger to Abby as she was on his recruit board while in high school. "Abby is a great girl that I actually recruited out of high school" says Coach Moore. "She is a team first player and just that girl that you want in your locker room and program. Outside of that she fits our style of play well. She is long, quick, and can attack the rim or shoot the three. I feel that Abby will really thrive in our system."
