New Jersey Native to Play Basketball at Beaver
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is excited to welcome Jakhira Legoskey to its program.
Jakhira is a versatile and athletic player coming from Overbrook High School in New Jersey. She has been playing basketball for 14 year and also plays field hockey and softball as well. Jakhira's greatest accomplishments are setting the record for most steals, winning the Christmas Tournament three years in a row, winning tournament MVP, and winning the Coaches Award.
Outside of sports Jakhira likes to paint as well as take pictures. Legoskey said "I chose Penn State Beaver athletically because it is very competitive and has a very successful past; that is something I wanted to be a part of." Academically she chose Penn State Beaver for the small school atmosphere where she can receive individual attention from professors to help her succeed. Coach Moore says "Jakhira should add a ton of athleticism and speed to our program. She is great on the defensive end and will really thrive in our style of play."
