Three Lady Lions Earn USCAA All-American Awards
Akron, OH -- Three Lady Lions earn USCAA All-American honors at tonight's banquet.
Being named to the 1st Team was sophomore, Vanessa Jackson who finished third in the nation in both wins (12) and strikeouts (101). With an ERA of 2.64, she was among the top 10 in the association. Also a weapon for the Lady Lions offensively, Vanessa finished second in the nation in in doubles with 13 while batting .369 this season so far.
Earning a spot on the 2nd Team was sophomore, Dina Cable. Cable is currently batting .328 with 23 RBI's in 119 at bats and is in the top 5 in the nation in doubles with 12 this season so far.
Finally, earning an Honorable Mention award in her freshman season was Lacey Weible. Starting the season in the outfield, Lacey recently moved to the infield to play short stop and has been flourishing. Batting .392, she is 7th in the nation in hits with 47, third in the nation in triples with 4 and inside the top 20 in the nation in stolen bases.
