Four Players Earn PSUAC All-Conference Honors
Monaca, PA -- Four Lady Lions earn PSUAC All-Conference honors.
As the 2016-17 season comes to a close, four women's basketball players earned PSUAC All-Conference honors for their efforts on the court.
Earning honorable mention awards this season were seniors Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) and Mason Depetro (Pittsburgh, PA / Cornell) along with sophomore, Mia Mattes (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park). Flowers, who scored her 1000th career point earlier this season, ended her season with 167 points, 156 rebounds, 21 steals and 6 blocks landing her just inside the top 20 players in the conference in total rebounds. This is her second all-conference award in her storied career. Depetro tallied 299 points this year while grabbing 129 total rebounds and dishing out 87 assists, tying her for 5th in the PSUAC in that category and earning her her first all-conference award.
The point guard from Bethel Park, PA, Mattes, scored 289 points this season earning her first career PSUAC All-Conference award.
Finally, earning 2nd Team All-Conference was senior, Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln). Borders scored 325 points this season, also scoring her 1000th point this year, landing her just outside the top ten in the conference in scoring. She also grabbed 149 rebounds, made 50 steals (15th in the conference). This marks Asia's third all-conference award in her career.
