Bridgette Woodford Commits to Beaver Volleyball
A Ridgway, Pennsylvania native, Bridgette Woodford is the newest recruit for the Penn State Beaver Women's Volleyball program.
A recent graduate of Ridgway Area High School, Bridgette was an athlete in both volleyball and gymnastics. Playing primarily as a setter on the court, she tallied nearly 700 assists in her career, having a standout year as a senior.
For her efforts on the court, Bridgette was named Junior Varisty MVP in 2013, Varsity MVP in 2014 and was the recipient of the Jacqueline Renuad Award in 2015. She was also a 3 year letterman.
Woodford worked just as hard in the classroom. She was a member of the National Honor Society and made the high honor roll. She was a three-time medalist for the Model United Nations, won the Mock Trial Best Advocate Award and earned the Helene Bowley Scholarship Award in addition to being a member of the Student Council.
"Bridgette is passionate about the sport of volleyball and puts just as much work into her academics, she will be a great asset to the team and make a great role model both on and off the court", says Coach Bertges.
When asked what she is looking forward to most at Beaver, Woodford had this to say, "I'm looking forward to the endless opportunities and the lifelong friendships that will be made with people on and off the court at Beaver".
